EXTENTION EPHAD AMRESO BETHEL

FR : L’extension de la maison de santé Amreso Bethel est un simple parallélépipède sur trois niveaux percé de deux patios. Le programme est constitué de deux unités protégées au premier et deuxième niveau et un service EHPAD au troisième avec un total de 88 nouveaux lits. Les chambres des différents services ceinturent le bâtiment et une circulation boucle la distribution sans impasse. Les salles à manger, où passent le plus clair du temps les résidents, séparent les deux patios avec des accès aux jardins ou à de grandes terrasses. 2 angles opposés du parallélépipède se creusent pour former de généreux balcons habillés de bois qui prolongent des espaces intérieurs pour la visite des familles aux résidents. De grands cadres végétaux avec des plantes grimpantes persistantes et florales grimpent devant les façades pour venir filtrer la vue et les rayons du soleil une fenêtre sur deux dans les chambres. L’extension vient se greffer à l’existant par une discrète galerie. Une partie de l’existant a été restructuré pour créer une nouvelle blanchisserie, des vestiaires et une cafétéria pour le personnel. Le hall d’entrée a également fait l’objet d’une restructuration et d’un ambitieux projet architecture intérieure.

The Amreso Bethel nursing home’s extension is a simple 3 story parallelepiped pierced by two patios. The program comprises two protected units on the first and second floors as well as a nursing home on the third floor, with a total of 88 new beds. The rooms create an outer rim to the building and the circulation loops around the patios allowing a fluid distribution without dead-ends.  The dining areas, where the residents spend most of their time, separate the patios allowing direct access to the gardens and to larges terraces on the upper stories. Two opposite corners of the building are excavated creating spacious wood cladded balconies and thus extending the interior spaces to host the residents’ families during visits. Large frames are installed in front of the facades offering a support for evergreen and flowering climbing plants. This natural green layer filters the views and sunlight of one out of two windows in each room. The extension is connected to the existing building with a discrete gallery. Part of the existing building was refurbished to create a new laundry room, locker rooms and a personnel cafeteria. The entrance hall was also tackled with an ambitious indoor architecture project.
